Clarence was the son of Charles Henry Wood and Augusta Hayes Wood. His father died at the age of 16. He had one brother Charles Horatio Wood Jr. died in 1951. Clarence married twice. First wife was Celia Adele Wilber married Sept 25, 1912 divorced in 1925. His second marriage was to Eva H. B. Hayes June 19,1934 in Yankton, South Dakota. To this union three daughters were born Lovey, Nette and Zoe. He was a butter maker had a watch repair shop in his home and worked in different areas during his life. There did not seem to be anything he could not fix. He had issues in health. Clarence died Sept 26, 1955 Flandreau Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services were held Orvedahl Chapel by Rev. Vernon Morrison. Burial is at the Union Cemetery Block 052 lot 1 grave 2.
