Warren J. Gannon was born September 28, 1921 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He grew up in Pipestone, Minnesota and served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.

After his discharge he returned to Pipestone where he as employed at Northern States Power Company. He retied from NSP after 36 years of service.

Warren married Donna Fangmeier on July 3, 1947 in Pipestone, Minnesota. The couple lived in Slayton, Minnesota, and Centerville, South Dakota before moving to Dell Rapids.

Warren served as a Dell Rapids City Councilman, Mayor and on the Dell Rapids Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Chief. He was involved in the development of the Dell Rapids Golf Course.

Warren enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, and most especially loved being with his family.

Warren died Monday, November 10, 2003 at the Avera McKennan Hospice in Sioux Falls.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Donna, Dell Rapids; a son Thomas and his wife Deborah, Mequon, Wisconsin; a daughter, Debra Schmuck and her husband, Steven, Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Erin, Gregory, Michael, Jeffrey, Caitlin, and Elizabeth; his sister, Mary Freier, Red Wing, Minnesota; his brothers, Robert Wilson, Red Wing, Minnesota, And William Wilson, Pipestone, Minnesota and many other relatives and friends.
