Hazel M. Fargen
Flandreau, S.D. – Hazel M. Fargen, 74, Flandreau, died suddenly Friday morning at her home.
Hazel Gill was born July 14, 1908, on a farm near Egan, S.D. She grew up at Egan and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1928. She married Lisle Fargen Feb. 26, 1930, at Flandreau. The couple farmed north-west of Flandreau for many years until they retired in 1968 and moved into Flandreau. Survivors include her husband; one son, Donald, Bemidji, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Margaret) Meyer, Aurora, S.D; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and one brother, Howard Gill, Dell Rapids, S.D.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau, with burial at the church cemetery. A parish rosary will be said at 7:30 .p.m Sunday at Skroch’s Funeral Home with Catholic Daughter’s prayer services following.
