Charlotte L. Jacobson, 93, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at her home. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Messiah Lutheran Church, rural Flandreau. Visitation with the family present will be from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Kahler Funeral Home.

Charlotte was born on January 12, 1923 in Flandreau to Walter and Rose Stover. She attended Hess rural grade school and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1940. She received a teaching certificate from Eastern State in Madison, SD and taught at Hess school for two years. Charlotte was married to Howard Jacobson on November 24, 1946 in Sioux Falls. They farmed in Blinsmon township until retiring in 1985 and continued to live on the farm. Howard died on September 14, 1990. She moved off the farm to Dell Rapids on October 1, 2011.

Charlotte was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, WELCA, Messiah quilters, WELCA Bible Study and treasurer of Bethania Oslo Cemetery Association. She also belonged to the Trent Senior Citizens, Moody Rustlers Club, and several card clubs.

She is survived by her son, Robert Jacobson and his wife, Joy of rural Harrisburg; her two daughters, Charlene Miller and her husband, Doug of Deadwood and Linda Adams of Garden City, KS; her six grandchildren, Heather Ahrendt and her husband, Jason, Aaron Jacobson and his wife, Amber, Kenan Miller and his wife, Dawn, Leah Brink and her fiance’, Justin Hyde, Anna Maruska and her husband, Joe, Daniel Bielfeldt and his wife, Megan; her eight great grandchildren, Gabrielle and Lincoln Ahrendt, Lexi Job, Alysia Hunter, Madeline and David Brink, Clara and Elijah Maruska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walt and Rose Stover; her sister, Wanda Thompson; her husband, Howard; and her grandson, Kyle Miller.
