Mrs. Hanna Swak was born Dec. 3, 1882 on a farm west of Dell Rapids, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hanson. Here she grew to womanhood. She was baptized in the Willow Creek Lutheran Church, Dec. 24, 1882 and confirmed in the same church in 1897. She resided in Minnehaha County the major portion of her life.
Mrs. Zwak left the Flintstone, Md. last week by train. She left Chicago Tuesday, Dec. 2nd; as she was traveling through Indiana she had a heart attack and passed away near Nappenee, Ind. at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 29 days. Her only daughter, Freda, preceded her in death. She is survived by two grandchildren, Mrs. Lester Mallow of Flintstone, Md and a son, John Entringer who lives in Calif.; also two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. J.O. Hanson of Sioux Falls and Ms. Leo Moore of Menno, S.D., three brothers, Albert O. Hanson, Severin Hanson and Thomas Hanson, all living west of Dell Rapids. Many more relatives and friends mourn her departure.
Funeral services were held last Saturday, December 6 from the Baltic Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. and at the Willow Creek Church at 2:00 p.m. Burial was made in the Willow Creek Cemetery, the Rev. Ole M. Odland, officiating. Pallbearers were Marvin Hanson, Arnold Hanson, Dale Anderson, Leo Moore Jr., Harlan Olson and Percy Hanson.
