Dorothy Faye Gale of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away on July 5th, 2024 at the age of 81. Dorothy was born April 7, 1943 to Vivian and Lawrence Lampson in Volga, SD. Dorothy graduated from Rutland High School and went on to attend South Dakota State University in Sioux Falls, SD. Dorothy worked at Sioux Valley Hospital and retired after 25 years.
Dorothy married James Gerald Gale on August 10, 1963 and they just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They had 3 children: Jeff, Jill and Jodi.
Dorothy and Jim enjoyed being snowbirds in Arizona for 16 years. In her early days she enjoyed square dancing, bowling and being a Mother. Later in life, she enjoyed golfing, gardening, reading, playing bridge and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
One of her most treasured memories was the family tradition of gathering together at a lake house which began in 1976 and continued over 26 years at Woodlawn Resort in Minnesota.
Dorothy was a very loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.
Left to cherish her memories are her children: Jeff Gale (Vicki), Albuquerque, NM, Jill Gerry (Shawn), Sioux Falls, SD , Jodi Gale (Shane), Alexandria, SD; Grandchildren: Amber Riedel (Peter), Globe, AZ, Caleb Schauer, Sioux Falls, Jakob Gale, Albuquerque, NM, Alexander Brittingham, Chandler, AZ, Carlee Albers, Sioux Falls, SD, Kyria Clarke (Michael), Albuquerque, NM, Katrina Pool (Josh), Avon, IN; 5 Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Denny Lampson, (Mary), Woodinville, WA and sister Vicki Madden (Jim), Armstrong, IA.
Visitation will be Monday, July 22, 10:00 AM at St. Lambert Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
