Joyce Claire Molstad
October 14, 1948 - December 11, 2019
Joyce C. Molstad, Sioux Falls, SD, died December 11, 2019, at Avera McKennan Hospital. She was 71.
Joyce Claire Molstad was born October 14, 1948, at Luverne, MN, to Lloyd and Alice Bonett. She was raised on her family’s farm near Magnolia, Minnesota. Following her graduation from high school, Joyce worked as a nurse’s aide for a period of time in Luverne. In 1971, she began her life-long career with Avera McKennan as a Certified Nurse’s Aide.
She was united in marriage to Steve Molstad on August 17, 1972, in Sioux Falls. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls where Joyce also became a loving mother. Joyce loved her career at the hospital, and particularly enjoyed working with all the patients. She retired in 2014, after decades of service.
Joyce and her family loved their annual trips to the Black Hills. They enjoyed camping and sightseeing throughout the Hills and Custer State Park. Steve and Joyce took a two-week trip to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier National Park, and Lake Louise - Banff National Park of Canada.
Joyce enjoyed reading, going to movies, working on cross-word puzzles, and visiting her family’s farm back home in Magnolia, Minnesota.
Blessed with an outgoing and kind spirit, Joyce’s memory will be forever cherished.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Steve Molstad; sons, Craig Molstad (Teri Ratigan), Michael Molstad; daughters, Mary Boyer (Devon Christianson), Michelle Boyer-Keefe (Paul Keefe); and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00am, Tuesday December 17, 2019, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Avenue. (81st and Minnesota Avenue directly across from Landscape Gardens.) The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 Monday evening at the funeral home.
