Audrey Louise Rinder
February 5, 1931 - December 1, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey L. Rinder. Audrey was a beloved member of the Sioux Falls community in South Dakota, and she peacefully passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 92, at Tidewell Hospice in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
Audrey Louise Lutz was born on February 5, 1931, in Newark, New Jersey, to Walter and Mildred (VonDegen) Lutz. When she was ten years old, her family moved to Sioux Falls, where she attended public school and later graduated from Washington High.
On August 31, 1948, Audrey married George Rinder Jr. in Luverne, Minnesota. The couple had five children; Stephen, Bruce, Thomas, Michael, and Nancy. Audrey devoted her life to raising her children and was a loving mother.
Audrey was a dedicated Elder and a cherished member of First Prsbyterian Church for seventy years, having joined in 1944. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Women and Wisdom circle, a member of Chapter BD PEO, and also volunteered her time at Garfield Elementary School.
Audrey had an abundance of love for her family and friends, and she cherished spending time with them. She enjoyed traveling and listening to music of all kinds.
Audrey is survived by her five children, Stephen (Patricia) Rinder of Bradenton, FL, Bruce (Trish) Rinder of Rapid City, SD, Thomas (Marsha) Rinder of Sioux Falls, SD, Michael Rinder of Sioux Falls, SD, and Nancy (Scott) Schutte of Gillette, WY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, Roger (Carol) Lutz of St. Paul, MN.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mildred Lutz, her beloved husband of 48 years, George Rinder, and a brother, Wally Lutz.
A service of Remembrance and Celebration will be held at 11:00 am on May, 23, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church (2300 S West Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57104.)
