George W. Dubisar

Sioux Falls – George W. Dubisar, age 72, of Sioux Falls, died at his home of natural causes Wednesday, August 7, 2002. Services are 10:00 a.m., Saturday August 10, 2002 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, with full military rites. Visitation begins at 3:00 p.m., Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 13th & Main, with the family greeting friends from 7:00 p.m., until 8L00 p.m.

George William Dubisar, son of John ad=nd Susan (Gallup) Dubisar, was born December 3, 1929 in New England, ND. He graduated from New England High School in 1949 and entered the U.S. Navy in January of 1948 after completing a semester at Dickinson State Teachers College. George was honorable discharged from the Nacy in 1951 with a Korean Service Medal 1st Star. He married Caolin Beth Ballweber of September 6, 1952 and returned to College at Grand Forks, ND.

In 1956, George began his lifetime career with State Farm Insurance as an agent. In 1964, he moved his family to Sioux Falls, SD following his promotion to District manager. George continued with the company until his retirement in 1992. He served his community on numerous boards and committees, including Lutheran Social services, various church offices, member of the U.S.G.A Senior Committee, president of S.D.G.A, president of Westward Ho Country Club and a member of the El Riad Shrine.

His retirement years were spent with Caroline fishing for walleye o n the Missouri River, reading, visiting their children and grandchildren, golfing and wintering in Florida

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Caroline, son Bruce and Peggy, Chester, VA, daughter Terrie and Ron Fischer, Olivet, SD, daughter Pennie and Tim Cross, Lawrence, KS, son William T. and Joyce, Sioux Falls, daughter, Susan and Brady Marone, Siouxb Falls, daughter Beth and Bill Jeffries, Edmund, OK, son Chad and his fiancé, Lori Lager, Sioux Falls, son, Brad and Karla, Omaha, NE, 13
Grandchildren, three brothers, Roland, New England, ND, John and Alyce, Coos Bay, OR, Wesley and Rita, Elba, AL, and a sister, Iola Dubisar, New England, ND.

His parents and older brother Irving preceded him in death.
