Myrtle M. (Munson) Duncan
Funeral services were held Friday, November 26, 1999 at Second Presbyterian Church in Flandreau for Myrtle M. Duncan, 95, who died Monday, November 22, 1999 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home. Rev. Stan Gruneich officiated.
Myrtle Munson was born June 12, 1904 to August and Lena Gust Munson at Flandreau. She attended Moody County country schools and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1925. She taught at Jones Country School until her marriage to Charles L. Duncan on February 27, 1928 at Flandreau. They farmed north of Flandreau until 1953 when they moved into town. Charles died July 13, 1981. She moved to Riverview Manor in 1987.
She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, VFW Auxiliary and various other organizations.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Mae Miller of Sioux Falls; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grand-children; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles; two daughters, Marjorie Radi and Lila Knock; two sons, Ralph and Curtis; and three brothers, Clifford, Roy and Milo.
