Jeffrey Lee Nielsen

Jeffrey Lee Nielsen of Littleton, CO passed away at his home in Littleton, CO on August 18, 2015. He was born on March 26, 1948 in Sioux Falls, SD to Clinton and Eris Nielsen. Jeff received his Bachelors of Social Work degree with an emphasis in Corrective Rehabilitation from Anderson College, Indiana. Jeff served with the Lakewood Police Department in Lakewood, CO for 11 years. While co-owning a Denver flower shop, Floral Expressions, he joined the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office in 1982 as a Medical Examiner, from which he retired in 2006. Jeff participated in many volunteer opportunities with his church and enjoyed a variety of hobbies and activities including running, hiking, camping, fishing, pickleball, golf and RC airplanes. His friends and family knew him as a dedicated father, loving husband and loyal friend. Verbally or through quiet example, Jeff was always willing to share his strong Christian faith. He was a special inspiration to all who knew him. Jeff is survived by his wife Adele Nielsen, his two sons Aaron (Kristen) of Colorado Springs and Jake (Maria) Nielsen of Littleton, their mother Karla Harper his former spouse, and four grandchildren: Jesse, Luke, Heidi, and Zac. He is also survived by parents Clint and Eris Nielsen, sister Judy (Kevin) Johansen, and brothers Terry (Linda) Nielsen, all of Sioux Falls, SD and Tim (Enid) Nielsen of Portland, OR. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, August 27 at 2 pm at Mission Hills Church, 620 Southpark Dr, Littleton, CO 80120. Donations can be made in Jeff's honor to Compassion International.
