Loxie Hockenberry, 70, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Sanford Hospice Foundation Cottage in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, 2023, also at the funeral home.
Loxie Kay Buchholz, daughter of Pete and Sally (Rappe) Buchholz was born November 6, 1952, in Tyndall, South Dakota. She graduated from Washington High School in 1971. She was married to Allen Johnson and they were blessed with their daughter, Stephanie. She worked for Litton and Graco in Sioux Falls. Loxie was united in marriage to William “Tony” Hockenberry on December 31, 1993. She has been a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and cross stitching.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Stephanie (Gordon) Vizecky of Richfield, MN; step children, Brian Hockenberry of Sioux Falls and Tia Hockenberry of Virginia; grandchildren, Zach Vizecky, Gage Vizecky, Peyton Hockenberry, Emma Hockenberry, Hanna Hockenberry, and Olivia Hockenberry; siblings, Morris Buchholz, Jackie (Doug) Moeller, and Mickey Buchhholz all of Sioux Falls; and a host of additional friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Sally Buchholz; husband, William “Tony” Hockenberry; brother, DelRay (Bonnie) Buchholz; and sisters-in-law, Patsy and Pam Buchholz.
