Ramona Margaret Lewis, 80, died peacefully on Sep 14, 2022.
Ramona (Monie) was born July 13, 1942, to Rupert and Mary (Lambertz) Beaner. She was the 10th of 16 children and was raised on their farm outside of St. Lawrence, SD. She married Keith (Casey) Snodgrass in 1960 and raised 3 children - Brenda, Barry and Becky – in Highmore, SD. She moved to Sioux Falls, SD, in 1985 and married Darrell D. Lewis in 2008.
Monie was a strong Christian and a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She was feisty, with a quick wit and sense of humor that will be missed by everyone. She was a self-taught and very talented seamstress, making matching Easter outfits for her children, sewing cheerleader outfits and prom dresses, creating beautiful memory quilts, and altering outfits for almost everyone she knew. She was a great cook and worked at several restaurants. Her caramel rolls were legendary.
Monie was loved by her husbands, Casey Snodgrass and Darrell Lewis, her children Brenda Ives (Colorado Springs, CO), Barry (Donna) Snodgrass and Linda Rae Placek (Pierre, SD), Rebecca and Anthony Reynolds (Humboldt, SD); her 11 grandchildren Brandon, La’Teasha, Shantel, Cassie, Elizabeth, Nicole, Aaron, Miranda, Jeremy, Desiree, and Michael; her 15 great-grandchildren; siblings Donna (Robert) Eschenbaum, Charlotte (Raynord) Molander, Irene (Jack) Fanning, Roger (JoAnn) Beaner, Lloyd (Muriel) Beaner, James (Sharon) Beaner, Richard (Nina) Beaner, Charles (Judy) Beaner, Donald (Nancy) Beaner, Sandra (Darwin) Knudtson, Diann (Lennis) Knight, Linda (Gary) Terbell, Mary Ann (Michael) Butler, Ellen (Bruce) Rook, and Rita (Al) Tibbitts; and so, so many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass for Ramona will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8,2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials directed to the Alzheimers Association.
