Rodney Maurice Kramer
August 1, 1962 - February 19, 2023
Rodney Kramer, age 60 of Sioux Falls, died Sunday February 19, 2023, from the result of a ATV accident near Trent, SD. Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2023 at Miller Southside Funeral Chapel 7400 S. Minnesota Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Miller Southside with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Rodney M Kramer, son of Morris and Phyllis (Habeck) Kramer, was born August 1, 1962 in Slayton, MN. His family later moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where he grew up and received his education. Rodney then entered the Job Corp to learn a trade. He then served in the United Sates Navy. After his honorable military discharge, he returned to Sioux Falls. Rod did concrete work for a few years and took up commercial painting which led him to be the proud owner of RMK Painting.
In 1986 he met his soulmate Pam. They joined together in marriage in 1990 and together they enjoyed the ride of life’s ups and downs always ending up in each other’s arms at their rock.
Rod believed in living a big life. He had a very kind, gentle and adventurous soul. He was driven by hard days work and thrived on an even harder day of play. Whether flying off somewhere with Dale and Dyonne, 4-wheeling, racing, hunting, fishing, boating, jumping from a plane, gardening, volleyball, golf, pool, bowling, bean bags, horseshoes, helping others, and playing with his grandkids. If you named it, Rod would try it. “No’ was not a word he liked to say.
His favorite part of any play day was sitting around afterward, popping open a Budweiser and shooting the breeze with those who shared in his day. Rod’s smile and chuckle were contagious. He loved being with family, friends and people in general. Rod had a genuine care for people. If you were lucky enough to cross paths with him, you were considered a friend and or family and you always walked away from Rod feeling validated and cared for.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Pamela; step-daughter Rachel (Jerry) Tammen, 3 grandchildren, Keira, Addison, and Parker, his name’s sake nephew, Rodney Kramer; bonus granddaughter Eastlyn; brothers, Tim (Mary Kramer), Steve (Joy) Kramer, Brian Kramer; sisters Gloria (Norm) Rons, Wanda Sampica, Kathy Jackson; many nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Mary and brothers, Jeffery, Stanley, and Ronnie.
