Joyce Elaine Keller, 73 passed away at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls on January 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at St. Therese Catholic Church with a burial and luncheon to follow. Family will be present at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, for visitation from 3:30-5:30pm with a wake and Rosary Service beginning at 3:00pm.
Joyce was born May 17, 1949 to John & Hazel Feldhacker in Spencer, Iowa the 6th of 8 children. She attended grade school in Spencer until 1964 when the family moved to a farm in Milford, Iowa where she graduated from High School. After graduation she attended Tyler beauty school of cosmetology in Sioux City, Iowa where she received her license. Joyce was united in marriage June 27, 1970, to Francis (Ace) Keller. They initially moved to Austin, Texas for 6 months, then to Galesburg, Illinois, then Sandusky, Ohio and in 1973 to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Joyce opened her own beauty shop there (Joyce's Country Curl). They were blessed with 3 daughters (Andrea, Stephanie, Stacia). In 1986 they built their home in Brandon, South Dakota where Joyce operated a beauty shop for several years.
Joyce enjoyed traveling. She loved music and going to concerts (especially Neil Diamond). She was a talented seamstress creating beautiful quilts and wall hangings. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her daughters from prom dresses to Renaisance dresses. She loved antiques and decorated their home so perfect. She was fond of horses and dogs. She and Ace raised collies and she owned her own horse for several years while enjoying going on trail rides..
Joyce is lovingly remembered by her daughters Andrea Keller, Stephanie (Paul) Hanson and Stacia (Andy) List along with her brothers Jim (Alene), Ronnie, Dennie (Virginia), Greg (Mary) and sisters Jean (Don) Garrison, Patty (Ron) Scott and sister-in-law Terry Feldhacker as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry Feldhacker and sister-in-laws Tonya Feldhacker and Toni Feldhacker.
