Cheryl Lynn Wyant
November 18, 1946 – August 17, 2022
Cheryl L. Wyant, age 75 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, peacefully passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Sanford Hospice Centennial Cottage in Sioux Falls.
Cheryl Lynn Scott was born November 18, 1946 to Clayton and Delores (Grundler) Scott in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She attended Sioux Falls public schools and graduated from Washington High in 1964.
On July 29, 1964, Cheryl was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Robert Duane Wyant at Immaculate Conception Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. They soon became loving parents to their two sons, Jon and Michael. The family resided in many places which include the following: Vermillion, SD 1964-1966, Aberdeen, South Dakota 1966-1967, Fargo, North Dakota 1967-1968, Bismarck, North Dakota 1968-1969, Columbus, Ohio 1969-1972, Cleveland, Ohio 1972-1976, and in summer of 1976 moved back to South Dakota and resided in Tea until they finally settled in Sioux Falls in 1977.
Cheryl worked for her father’s pharmacy, Scott’s Pharmacy in Sioux Falls as a pharmacy technician from 1982-1992. In 1992, she became a proud owner of a gift shop called, R Little Shoppe, which was located in the Western Mall and then moved downtown Sioux Falls on Phillips Avenue. From 2002-2011, Cheryl worked at Sertoma Butterfly House as the gift store manager and then worked in the gift store at the Washington Pavilion from 2011-2012.
One of her greatest passions was her volunteer work at Sioux Falls Community Playhouse, which she volunteered there for 30 years. She also had a passion for painting. She was an incredible painter and enjoyed painting anything from water, lakes, rivers, plants, and mother/child images. Cheryl also enjoyed crocheting, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 58 years, Robert Duane Wyant of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Jon (Michelle Perfect) Wyant of Tuscan, AZ; daughter-in-law, Shawn Wyant of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Jenny Miller, Jason Wyant and Danielle Wyant; great grandchildren, Kayden Foht, Isaiah Miller, Alexis Miller, Austin Wyant and Ryland Parisian; and brother, Mark (Susan) Scott of Garland, TX.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Delores Scott; son, Michael Wyant; and grandson, Nick Wyant.
A graveside service will take place at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
