Young Mother Is Taken by Death
Just a few hours before the 12th wedding anniversary of her marriage Mrs. Mike Schwebach was claimed by death at her home west of Dell Rapids, about 8:30 the evening of November 26th. The cause of her death was cancer, from which she had suffered a lengthy time. Two years ago it was found that she had this dreaded disease and three months later she submitted to an operation, and for a few months was improved, but recurrence of the disease appeared and in spite of all medical skill the young life could not be spared. For the last few weeks she has been confined to her bed, suffering intensely, but was conscious to the end.
Anna Bricher was born June 1, 1899, at Alton, Iowa, the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. George Bricher. At the age of two years she came with her parents to Dell Rapids, which has since been her home. She attended St. Mary's Academy. On November 27th, 1923, she was married to Mike Schwebach. Six children were born to them, namely: Berenadine, George, Vincent, James, Grace and Monica, who is not a year old.
Funeral services will be held in Saint Mary's Church on Friday morning at 9:00 o'clock and interment will take place in the Dell Rapids Catholic Cemetery. Six nephews of Mrs. Schwebach will serve as pallbearers: Anthony Zeig, Clarence Bunkers, Nicholas Schwebach, Jr., Magnus Hanson, Sylvester Ahlers and Mike Schwebach. Besides the husband six children of deceased survived by her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Leo Hanson, and Mrs. Joe Ahlers of Dell Rapids; three brothers, Frank of Dell Rapids, Nick, Dell Rapids; Joe, Cheyenne, Wyoming. The passing of this young mother is indeed sad. She was a true friend to all who knew her and her friends were many.
