Eleanor Linton Baker
December 31, 1969 - April 1, 2003
Eleanor Mildred Swenson, daughter of Sam and Mildred (Spoonam) Swenson, was born on November 14, 1926 at Valley Springs, SD. She grew up and received her education in Garretson, SD. Eleanor was united in marriage with Leonard E. Linton on August 10, 1946 in Luverne, MN. After their marriage the couple lived in Sioux Falls, SD. For many years Eleanor managed the Consumer Stamp Store, which was located in downtown Sioux Falls next to the State Theatre. Leonard died on April 1, 1976.
Eleanor later married Wayne Baker and shortly thereafter moved to Harrisburg, SD. Eleanor enjoyed rummaging, working in her yard, raising flowers, and doing crossword puzzles.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Wayne Baker, Harrisburg, SD; three daughters, Jackie Underberg and her husband, Joe, Harrisburg, SD, Sharri McMath and her husband, Randy, Sioux Falls, SD, Debbie Underberg, Worthing, SD; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Adeline Middlen and her husband, Joel, Larchwood, IA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Leonard, her parents; two brothers, Carol and Loren Swenson; and one sister, Thelma Linton preceded her in death.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at George Boom Funeral Home following the committal service.
