Sharon K. Mataya, age 76 of Canistota, SD passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
Sharon Kay Stauffacher was born on March 22, 1945 in Sioux Falls, SD to Donald and Ethel (McKnelly) Stauffacher. She married John Mataya in Luverne, MN on March 31, 1962. To this union three children were born, Shawn, Regan, and Crista.
Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, John Mataya of Canistota, SD; two daughters, Regan (Jeff) Anderson of Brandon, SD and Crista Mataya of Humboldt, SD; her grandchildren, Josh (Kristen) Hoefert of Sioux Falls, SD, Cameron Mataya of Perris, CA, Brie Hoefert of Sioux Falls, SD, Trase (Betsy) Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD, Alec Mataya of Humboldt, SD, AJ Jensen (Shelby Lohan) of Hartford, SD, and Mersedez Jensen of Humboldt, SD; her great-grandchildren, Breyden, Brandt, Zayta, Preslee, Ayden, Adalynn, Oliver, and Caryl; twelve siblings; along with a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Mataya; her parents, Donald and Ethel (McKnelly) Stauffacher; and infant sister, Shirley Stauffacher.
