Roberta Elizabeth Haight
February 26, 1942 - February 11, 2022
Roberta “Bobbi” E. Haight, Brandon, SD, died February 11, 2022. She was 79.
Roberta Elizabeth Haight was born February 26, 1942, in St. Paul, MN, to John and Pearl (Schmidt) Welhaf. She attended public schools and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1960. In 1959, she was crowned Miss Moorhead. She then met and married the love of her life, Stephen Haight. She was married over 60 years.
Family was at the center of Bobbi’s life. She cherished her children and their families. She was a wonderful and loving mother. Kindhearted, caring, and generous, she always put others before herself. Selfless, Bobbi’s generosity was widespread and far-reaching, touching all those who came into contact with her.
The couple lived in Maple Grove, MN, before moving to Sioux Falls, SD in 1974. Always working as a team, Bobbi and Steve started an electrical business. Over the years they began developing apartment homes throughout the Midwest, owning and operating Haight Construction and Hayloft Property Management.
Forever grateful for having shared her life are children, Robert (Emma) Haight, Brandon, SD; Trish Haight, Los Angeles, CA; and Pamela (Todd) Nordmeyer, Brandon, SD; five grandchildren, Matthew (Rayna) Haight, Sioux Falls, SD; Kaila (Zack) Kamrass, Lakeville, MN; Melissa Haight, Hopkins, MN; Luke Nordmeyer, Omaha, NE; and Briton Nordmeyer, Apple Valley, MN; three great-grandchildren, Bryer Haight, Ruxtyn Haight, and Berkley Kamrass; sisters, Patricia Thorson, Topeka, KS; Barbara (Mike) Bell, Nevada, TX; and many other
relatives and friends.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her loving husband Stephen; and her parents, John and Pearl Welhaf.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Avenue (81st and Minnesota Ave.) The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 Wednesday evening Southside Chapel.
