Donald Person
Donald E. Person, 66, of 2809 Klondike Tr., died Wednesday, Oct 30, 1991, in McKennan Hospital.
Mr. Person was born Jun 21, 1925, in Crooks. He served in the Navy.
He married Cynthia Oaks on Nov 5, 1946, in Sioux Falls. He worked for Sunshine Foods for 35 years, and retired in Dec. 1988 as manager of the store on 12th and Kiwanis.
He was a member of St. Lampert’s Catholic Church, where he served as an usher, lector and Eucharistic minister; a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was a past faithful navigator; the American Legion, VFW and Downtown Kiwanis.
Survivors include his wife; two sons: Kenneth of Layton, Utah, and Karl of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters: Susan Nelson of Reading, Penn., and Elna Leonard and Kathleen Person, both of Sioux Falls; 10 grandchildren; and one brother, Ray of Sun City, Ariz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Lambert’s Catholic Church, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today in Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home, with a scripture vigil at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary in the funeral home.
