Petr Mikhailovich Sushchik
November 14, 1936 - January 20, 2021
Petr Mikhailovich Sushchik was born November 14, 1936, in the village of Skibi, Ukraine into a large family of nine siblings. His parents were Mikhail Sushchik and Motrya . He was the second oldest. His childhood was difficult growing up during WWII. At age of 18 he moved to a newly established city of Novovolynsk, where he attended vocational school to become a coal miner.
In 1957 he got married to Oksana Grinyuk. They had 5 sons and 2 daughters. Their first born son Viktor passed away at an age of nine months old. All his life Petr worked the rugged job of a coal-miner.
In December 1997 Petr and Oksana moved to USA, Sioux Falls, SD to reunite with their son Anatoliy and his family.
Peter loved and cherished America dearly. He traveled many miles across the country. After taking a sip of his favorite drink Dr. Pepper he would often say “Oh! how good it is to live in America!”
God blessed Petr and his wife Oksana with 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren throughout their 63 years of marriage.
On January 20, 2021 he peacefully went to be with Jesus and loved ones.
