Theresa Hochstatter
January 20, 1935 - August 16, 2021

With much sadness, the Hochstatter family announces the passing of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Theresa Elizabeth Hochstatter, early on the morning of Monday, August 16, 2021.

Teresa was born on January 20, 1935 at the Tracy Hospital to Maurice and Irene Maeyaert of Tracy, MN. As a youngster, she grew up on a farm where she talked often of playing in the hay barn and snow drifts with her brothers and sisters; Raymond, Mary, Alice, Helen, Edward and Robert.

Theresa continued her farming life when she got married to Lester Hochstatter. They started their life together farming by Tracy, MN, where they had their three children; Marlene, Mike, and Byron. In the late 1960’s, they decided to buy a farm by Currie, MN. In the mid-1990’s, Theresa moved to Worthington where she continued her life as a waitress for 30 plus years until she retired.

During her young life and carrying into retirement, she most enjoyed her great grandchildren, quilting and gardening. It always made her smile when she could hand someone a handmade quilt. The other thing that would make her smile was helping Byron and his wife Jean, with their flower gardens. In her later years, she found much enjoyment in feeding and watching birds. Theresa’s other interests included being active at Day Break, adult day care, meeting friends, playing cards, and music.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Marlene Stevens, San Diego, CA, Mike (Sue) Hochstatter, Harris, MN, and Byron (Jean) Hochstatter, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Travis and Jamie Scott, Foley, MN, and children, Cayden, Jace and Paisley, Brad and Jill Scott, Buckman, MN, and children, Lucas and Klayton, Bob Hochstatter, Rush City, MN and son Blake, Brandon and Jodie Hochstatter, Stanchfield, MN and children, Will and Samantha, Mindy Scott and Nate Kubat, Rush City, MN, and children, Reece and Vince, Allen and Gillian Hochstatter, Harris, MN, and children, Arianna and Jayke, Kevin and Maria Hochstatter, St. Cloud, MN, Jason Pfuhl, Sioux Falls, and children, Jordan, Justice and MyKenzie, and special great granddaughter Liberty DeNoble and Dustin James, Denver, CO; her furry friends, Jack and Sassy and a host of other relatives and friends.
