Julie Hoel-Flanders, Brandon, SD, passed away September 23, 2020, at Sanford Ava's House. She was 55.

The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday evening, September 29, 2020, at Miller Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st Street in Sioux Falls. **Due to the pandemic, masks are required to be worn at the visitation for Julie.

Julie Lynn Hoel was born February 15th, 1965 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Robert Hoel and Bernadine (Shaffer) Hoel. She was the youngest out of four daughters. She attended Longfellow elementary then Patrick Henry middle school and Whitter middle school before she graduated Lincoln high school in 1983. Julie participated in many activities in her academic years. She won many awards for her participation and skills in gymnastics, diving, basketball, and volleyball. She was a wonderful actress participating in theatre, and an iconic cheerleader beaming with school spirit.

She was united in marriage with Roy Flanders on March 26th, 1988 at Wesley Methodist Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They have two daughters, Maggie and Alexandra. They mostly lived in eastside Sioux Falls with a couple of years in Hartford, South Dakota where they built a house. She was employed at Midland services, CAT industries, Coca Cola bottling company, Hy-Vee and various retail stores. Her passion was to help and interact with people
.
She later moved to Brandon, South Dakota in 2011 with her daughter Alexandra.

She loved spending time with her daughters and her special friend, Dan. On any given day you could catch her singing and dancing, or watching scary movies. She loved to make her daughters' birthdays extra special. She always made the effort to spend time with her family around the holidays. She loved music of every genre but her favorite was the dynamic duo Heart. Her and her loved ones had a very special connection with this band. Julie had a particular love for tacos which matched her spice for life. She was a shining light to anyone who had the pleasure of encountering her and her smile could melt the coldest of hearts.

Julie is survived by her sisters, Jacqline (Daryl) Jibben and Pamela (Roger) Rolfson. Along with 5 Nieces and 3 Nephews and many great Nieces and great Nephews. She loved her family more than anything and carries those memories with her to the after life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bernadine and cherished sister Debra. May she rest with peace in her soul.
