David A. Harms
November 02, 1947 - January 12, 2020
David A. Harms, 72, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota died Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020, at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls.
David Allan Harms, son of Charles and May (Bjorklund) Harms was born November 2, 1947, in Madison, South Dakota. He graduated from Washington High School in 1966. Following high school, he helped on the family farm back in Madison for several years. David was united in marriage to Diane Ronning on August 25, 1972, at East Side Lutheran Church. His working years were spent as a forklift driver for John Morrell and Company where he dedicated over 30 years. David had a knack for fixing any number of things, and often times helped friends and neighbors no matter the task. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and taking family camping trips. He and Diane enjoyed going out to the movies a few times a week. He also picked up computers quite easily and also enjoyed playing video games. His keen sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Diane of Sioux Falls; two sons, David C. (Sherry) of Linthicum, MD and Jason of Sioux Falls; daughter, Jennifer Harms of Sioux Falls; six grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (Doug) Guhlke of Sioux Falls; two brothers, Jack of Sioux Falls and Dennis (Mary) of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ricky and Randy Harms.
