Cary Logan, 57 of Hartford, SD died suddenly on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at home.

Cary was born December 28, 1962 in Garden City, Kansas to Dennis and Sharon Logan. He spent his early childhood in Kansas and later childhood in Aberdeen, SD. When he was a young boy, he began to spend his summers in Lakin, Kansas building homes with his grandpa and uncle and continued to do this through his teenage years.

After graduating high school from Aberdeen Central in 1981 he went on to further his education by enrolling at Lake Area Tech and focusing on advanced building trades.

Cary married Leisa Miller on January 8, 1983 in Aberdeen. They welcomed their first son, Jason David on July 25, 1983. After Leisa graduated from college, the family moved to Colorado Springs, CO where Cary continued his career in construction. On September 29, 1987, Cary and Leisa welcomed their second son, Michael James. In 1991 the family moved to Sioux Falls, SD. A year later they moved to Hartford, SD. Cary worked at Plainsco, later Dakota Supply Group, in the utility section. In 2017 Cary began working at Resco/Eusco, continuing his career in the utility industry.

Some of Cary’s favorite activities included fishing, hunting and watching sports. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. One of the highlights of his life was his yearly tradition of elk hunting in Colorado with his friend, Craig Pratt. His favorite pastime was spending time with his three grandchildren.

Cary is survived by his wife, Leisa; two sons, Jason (Andrea) and Michael (Shelby); three grandchildren, Zoe, Benjamin and Harper; father, Dennis, sister, Christina; nephew, Mathew; father-in-law, Charles; sister-in-law, Debra; brother-in-law, Chuck; niece, Abby; his dear friends, Rick, Craig and Barry; and many others. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Sharon; uncle, Charles; and his mother-in-law, Marjorie.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Avenue, (81st and Minnesota Ave.) The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday evening at Miller Southside Chapel.
