Richard Adkins
Richard C. Adkins Jr., 54, of 4305 E. Eighth St., died Friday, May 6, 1994, at McKennan Hospice.
Mr. Adkins was born November 30, 1939, in Sioux Falls.
He married Sharon “Kay” Hanisch on June 14, 1963, in Pipestone, Minn. They lived in Sioux Falls, where he worked for Sunshine Foods for over 17 years. He retired in 1984 due to ill health.
He was a member of the St. Therese Catholic Church, coached Hilltop Softball and was a member of the Minnehaha Archers.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of Sioux Falls; one son, Marty and his wife, Misty, of Colton; four daughters: Mrs. Frank (Ann) Feltis, Ms. Dale (Wendy) Bennett, Mrs. Mike (Kelly) Steen and Mrs. Kevin (Peggy) Husman, al of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren; his mother, Hazel Adkins of Sioux Falls; one brother, Steven and his wife, Sheree, of Hartford; and his grandmother, Mary Adkins of Harrisburg.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.p. Tuesday at St. Lambert Catholic Church, Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home. Scripture service will begin at 7 p.m. with the family present at that time.
