Mary Petersen Beyer was born in Scott County, IA near Davenport to Fritz and Sophie Pien Petersen on February 3, 1899. As a small child she moved with her parents to Steen, MN where she received her education and grew to womanhood. She worked in the Luverne, MN area until she married Adolph Beyer on March 11, 1920. They continued to live in the Luverne area until the fall of 1923 when they came to a farm in Moody County northwest of Flandreau where she has since made her home. She was a member of the Redeemers Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Arthur, Flandreau; four daughters, Delores Mrs. Luverne Snuggerud, Evelyn, Mrs. Doyal Biteler, Phyllis, Mrs. Edwin Ailts, and Verla Mae Beyer, all of Flandreau; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; three brothers, Fritz, Harry and William Petersen all of Flandreau; two sisters, Mrs. Epton Brandsma, Luverne, MN and Mrs. Herbert Erickson of Lehigh Acres, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
