Funeral Today
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, Jan 18 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Colman, for Michael T. Eich, 64, Dell Rapids. Eich died at his farm home Jan 15. Interment will take place in Colman cemetery with Skroch Funeral Home in Charge.
Michael Eich was born Aug 30, 1908 at Sheldon, Ia. He received his education in Hospers, Ia., until the family moved to Iroquois in 1920. He completed his education in that place and worked with his father. In 1925 he moved to the Colman area and worked on farms in the area. On Aug 14, 1933 he married Veronica Hochhausen in Colman. They began farming for themselves in 1937 north of Colman and remained there until 1948 when they moved southeast of Colman.
His widow survives with two daughter, Mrs. James Brown (Betty), Dell Rapids; Mrs. Gary Duncan (Patty), Flandreau; sons John, Macon, Ga.; Arnold, Flandreau; Michael (Ronald), Chester and David, Yankton; 16 grandchildren; brother Joseph of Dell Rapids and sister Mrs. Louis Hiller, Colman, half-brother Jack Wolles and half-sister Mrs. Ann Broghammer, Colman.
