Marjorie Lois Urquhart, daughter of Cenie Hetland Urquhart and Joseph J. Urquhart, was born Nov. 25, 1902 in Valley Springs, S.D. She grew up there and graduated from Valley Springs High School. After her marriage to Melvin C. Anderson on May 21, 1921 in Sioux Falls, they farmed south of Valley Springs. In 1932 they moved to a farm west of Valley Springs and in 1943 they moved into Valley Springs. Her husband, Melvin, preceded her in death in June 1961 and she remained in Valley Springs until moving to Sioux Falls in 1973.
Marjorie was a member of Beaver Valley Lutheran Church and was a Past Grand Chief of Pythian Sisters.
Grateful for having shared her life are her 2 sons, Marlyn, Sioux Falls and Leland of Valley Springs; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Melvin, she was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Joseph Dean and 1 sister, Stella Rogness.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather with the family in the Beaver Valley Lutheran Church Downstairs Fellowship Hall following the committal service.
