SPENCER - DeVere G. Field, 80, former Spencer mayor, fire chief and councilman, died Friday in Colonial Nursing Home, Salem.
Mr. Field was born Dec. 26, 1903 in Wessington Springs. He married Jo Billam Dec. 16, 1935, in Sioux Falls. They lived in Spencer, where he was employed as a carpenter for many years.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge 4273 and past officer of the Grand Lodge.
He is survived by his wife.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem.
Graveside services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Union Cemetery, Flandreau.
Visiting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
