Sally (Ila Elaine) Griggs was born in 1939 to Mike and Minnie Weeldreyer in rural Alpena, SD. Sally married Jim (Maurice) Griggs on April 19, 1961. She dedicated her life to her children, staying at home and having in home daycare until her children started school. She then worked as an Educational Assistant at a variety of schools until her death.
Sally was Executive Director of Handi-Riders Inc., a program she and Jim hosted on their acreage near Hartford since 1985 and was instrumental in starting and maintaining the program.
“Grandma” was loved and cherished by the many lives she touched.
Sally is preceded in death by her mother, father and two brothers, Elmer Weeldreyer and Roger Weeldreyer.
Sally is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Kristie Kalb, Hartford and Beckie Jo Petterson, Canton; grandchildren, Mandy Jo, Tyndall and Brady; mother-in-law, Eula Griggs; three brothers and four sisters.

The family of Sally thanks you for your support and presence today. An invitation is extended to join them at the church for refreshments and fellowship following the committal service. Funeral Services 10:30am Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Christ Lutheran Church, Hartford, SD. Visitation will begin 2:00pm Friday, October 15, 2004 with family present from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Miller Funeral Home Valley View Chapel.
