Loretta Heinricy, of Madison, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Brookings Health System.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Friday, January 27th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Martin Lawrence as the Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Thursday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM and a Rosary to follow. Visitation will continue 9:30-10:15 AM on Friday at the funeral chapel followed by procession to the church for mass. Burial will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Colman.

Loretta Angie Hoffman was born May 18, 1921 in Bridgewater, SD to Michael & Margaret (Miller) Hoffman. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. She attended the St. Stephens & St. Martins Catholic Schools in Bridgewater. On June 29, 1948, she married Joseph Heinricy and they made their home on a farm NW of Colman. In 1979, they retired from farming and moved to Madison. She started working at Uncle Ed’s Café and later known as the 2nd Street Diner. While residing in Colman, Loretta was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. Upon moving to Madison, she was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church residing in Colman, Loretta was a St. Peters Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. Upon moving to Madison, she was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Altar Society. Joseph, her husband passed away in November of 1993.
Loretta loved to do embroidery, crocheting and sewing. She also enjoyed gardening and especially loved her flower plants. She cherished her time that she spent with her family.
Loretta is survived by her four children, Robert (Carole) of Colman, James (Alana) of Madison, Janet (Doug) Sunde of Madison and Patricia (Tom) Manning of Beresford; 15 grandchildren, Stacy (Heath) Johnson, Matthew (Julie) Heinricy, Melissa (Jonathon) Kahler, Christopher (Gena) Heinricy, Sarah Sunde, William (Lindsay) Sunde, Laura (Anthony) White, Rebecca Sunde, Kari (Jesse) Bruns, Adam Heinricy, Mary Ellen (Austin) Rounds, Mary Jo (David) Gabrovic, Josh Manning, Jessica (Jason) Albee & Korissa (Jim) Haak; 18 great grandchildren Willard Sunde, Willem Sunde, Lilly Sunde, Layne Sunde, Nora Heinricy, Kade Rumpka, Elle White, Alma White, Palmer Johnson, Linus Johnson, Louise Johnson, Jonathon Kahler, Natalie Kahler, Lucas Kahler, Addison Kahler, Kasaundara Albee, Olivia Albee & Jed Haak; one sister, Cecilia Scholl of Bushnell and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jo and husband, Joseph; brother, Al Hoffman; sister, Matilda Mayrose and brothers-in-law, Roman Mayrose & Donald Scholl.
