Polly Garland was born to Joseph Josiah Garland (1818-1888) and his wife Margaret Harris (1824-1890). Polly was the wife of George W. Rhinehart (1845-1910). She was the mother of Ida May Rhinehart Tomason (1869-1905). Ida Tomason is buried in the Dakota City Cemetery as well, in an unmarked grave.
