Udella I. Goodale was born to Daniel and Ivah Goodale in Minnehaha County on August 17, 1939. She was the youngest of five children. She grew up in the surrounding area moving to Phoenix Ariz., in the late 1960s. She was married to Judean Peterson II, from Baltic. They had five children together. Later in life, she married Robin Benner. Udella died on Thursday, January 31, in a Phoenix hospital, form cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, a half brother, Harold Hollister; a brother, Daniel (Sonny) Goodale; and her daughter Leah, and grandson, DeShawn Peterson and twin sisters. Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Judean Peterson III, Phoenix; three daughters: Reva and Teah Peterson, Phoenix; and Collene Peterson-Hawn, Everett Wash; three sisters: Vera Bjorklund, Canova; Ruth Lamphere, Hibbings, Minn.; and Joyce Fargen, Bemidji, Minn; and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at Benner at the Messinger Indain School Mortuary. Interment was held at East Nidaros Cemetery, Baltic.
