Andor B. “Andy” Aune, 62
Andor B. “Andy” Aune was born to Andrew O. and Bessy (Moan) Aune at Hendricks, Minnesota. He grew up and attended school in Hendricks. Andy joined the US Air Force on November 28, 1951, and served in Puerto Rico and Africa. He was honorably discharged January 17, 1957.
He married Lorraine Lettow February 1, 1962, at Salem. They made their home in the Baltic area where Andy farmed. He also worked construction in Sioux Falls. He worked for Baltic Lumber for 10 years and retired from Schoeneman’s Lumber in Sioux Falls in 1991.
Andy, 62, died at Monday, December 16, 1996, at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, Baltic; a daughter, Wanda Simmons, of Mankato, Minnesota; three brothers: Roger and his wife, Marlys, of Canby, Minnesota, Jerry of Hendricks, Minnesota, and Gordon and his wife, Betty, of Marshall, Minnesota; his mother, Bessy Aune of Hendricks; one granddaughter and one great – grandson.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, an infant son, a brother, Orin, and sisters, Verona and Maxine.
Services were held Friday, December 20, 1996, at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, Baltic, with Rev. August Borchardt and Rev. Morris Nelson officiating. Murial Eliason was organist and Ron Mofit was soloist.
