Mae Montgomery Martin was born in Tama County, Iowa, 18 Aug 1863. Daughter of Thomas Berryhill Martin & Mary Alice (Baldy) Martin. Had three sisters, Sarah Virginia, Laura Maude, and Ella Belle. Married Franklin Sylvanus Hammitt 27 Nov 1882 in Turner County, Dakota Territory. Mother of four sons & two daughters. After Franklin's death, she married Walter James Sanborn, 8 Jun 1927.
