DeLores Mae Jonason Aaron was born on December 3, 1931 on the family farm west of Irene, South Dakota. She was the 6th of 8 children born to Henry and Dorthea (Soresen) Jonason. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church near Irene. She grew up on a farm near Centerville, graduating from Centerville High School in 1949. As a young adult she enjoyed riding her horse, Babe, and participating in the Centerville Saddle Club, with numerous awards, ribbons and trophies. It was while working for Harold and June Bailin, at the general store in town, that she met Harold Aaron, who worked for Sol Bailin in Lennox. They dated for one year and were married October 14, 1951. To this union was born four children, Doreen, LaVinnia, Lori and Lynette. Harold and DeLores spent their married life between Sioux Falls, Lennox and Centerville. DeLores had a sales career her entire adult life, selling Stanley Home Products for 50 years, and working at Lamps and Shades and at Sioux Falls Paint and Glass. Over the years she volunteered in a number of ways at church (altar guild, Sunday School teacher, women's circle group, greeter), and with her children's activities as a band mom, softball mom, baton mom, volleyball mom and as a 4-H leader. Her greatest volunteer accomplishment was starting the Pulmonary Hypertension support group in 2008. This support group was one of the strongest PH chapters in the country. She was an excellent cook (known for her pies and dressing), seamstress and home decorator with a unique eye for color and design. She had a green thumb with beautiful flowers and vegetables. In 2006 she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension and Pulmonary Fibrosis. She died of complications of those diseases on February 7, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Aaron, her daughter, Doreen, her grandson Theo, her parents Henry and Dora, three sisters (Mursedus, Hoval, and DeMiria) and two brothers (Sylvan, and Arlen). She is survived by her daughters and their families: LaVinnia and Richard Pierson, LaRissa, Rachelle, and Linnea of San Jose, CA, Lori Aaron-Brass and Jim Brass, Greggory and Jazanne of Saint James, MN, and Lynette and Raymond Hahn, Hannah and Samuel of Sioux Falls, SD, one brother, Gerald Jonason, and one sister Janet Scott.
