Mrs. Grave Grove
Rites held Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Grove, widow of the late Dr. M. M. Grove, were held at the Methodist church on Monday, Afternoon, with the Rev. Leslie Pugh officiating.
Grace Grove was born March 19, 1880 in Plainview, Minn. After attending the University of Minnesota and Carlton College she taught school for some time. On January 1, 1906 she was married to Dr. Grove who had recently opened a hospital here and in 1912 established the present Dell Rapids hospital. Dr. Grove died in 1928 and a son Harold died in 1932.
Mrs. Grove was a member of the Congregational Church, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a longtime member of the Dell Rapids school board. She was active in the Dell Rapids Woman's Club and library as well as other civic organizations during the 41 years she lived here. For the past ? years she has lived in Sioux Falls.
Mrs. Grove was a devoted mother and a loyal friend and will long be remembered for her many acts of kindness and warm hospitality.
Survivors are: four sons, Dr. Stewart M. Grove, and Dr. Max Grove, both of Sioux Falls, Dr. Raymond F. Grove, Wilmington, N.C. and Donald D. Grove, West Chester, Ill.; three brothers B.C. Fisk of Plainview, I.W. Fisk of Boylestown, Pa., and Dr. R.R. Fisk of Flandreau, and nine grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of the Hermanson Funeral Home and interment was made in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
Those attended the services from away were: Dr. Raymond Grove, Wilmington, N.C.; Donald B. Grove, Westchester, Ill.; Mrs. Irene Kennefick, Chicago, Ill., Blake Fisk and Millard Fisk, Plainview, Minn.
