George Henry Hyronemus was born at Tea on July 27, 1924, the son of Harm and Verona (Stribley) Hyronemus. He grew and attended school in Tea. He attended Civil Conservation Camp for six months in the Black Hills. George served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in the Philippine Islands and then Korea until his honorable discharge. He attended flight school at Joe Foss Field and had earned certificates in radio and T.V. repair. On Dec. 20, 1958 he married Juliette Stoller in Sioux Falls. Having been employed for 39 years, George retired from John Morrell & Co. in 1986. He was a member of the Worthing American Legion and the Lenkota Country Club. He was preceded in death by his father in 1958 and his mother in 1988; nine brothers: one in infancy, Archie Merritt, Forrest Merritt, Percy Merritt, Dewey Merritt. Bernard Hyronimus, Russell Hyronimus, Albert Hyronimus and Randy Hyronimus.
Grateful for having shared his life are his widow. Juliette of Worthing; five children: Mark Hyronemus and his wife Joy of Worthing, David Hyronemus of Canton, Tami Lappegard and her husband Michael of Beresford. Shari Reynolds and her husband Ron of Dallas, Texas and Dr. Gail Ihnen and her husband Michael of Chicago, Illinois, seven grandchildren; siblings: Emma Hyronimus of Worthing, Nona Gimbel of Tucson, Arizona and Millard ?Sonny? Hyronemus of Rock Valley, Iowa as well as other relatives and friends.
