(September 22, 1952 - August 23, 2010)

Steve Hainje, 57, died suddenly at his home in Maple Grove, MN on August 23, 2010 of natural causes. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 in the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids. Interment will be next to his father in the Dell Rapids Cemetery. The family will be present at the church one hour prior to the service.

Steven Neil Hainje was born on September 22, 1952 in Dell Rapids, the son of Neil and Jerry Hainje. Steve, (Fritz), graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1970, and graduated from South Dakota State University. If you asked Steve how he was, you were likely to hear "nearly perfect". In addition to his love of family, Steve will be remembered for his quick smile, his sense of humor, and as a coach, mentor, and friend.

Grateful for sharing his life are his wife of 31 years, Marqueta of Maple Grove, MN; his two sons, Thomas and wife, Brenda of Maple Grove and Daniel of Fort Hood, Texas; his mother, Geraldine of Dell Rapids, SD; his sister, Mary (Bruce) Medema, brothers Doug (Christie), Dick (Becky), mother-in-law Gladys Kompelien, brother in law Orlin Kompelien, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Neil and brother, Roger.
