Diana Lee DeWitt was born Oct. 10, 1945 in Sioux Falls, the daughter of Mike and Inez (Broughton) DeWitt. She grew up in Worthing where she attended grade school and graduated from Worthing High School in 1963. On Oct. 31, 1964 she was united in marriage to Russell Henning at the Worthing Congregational Church. They made their home at Worthing until two years ago when they moved to their lake home on Lake Vermillion near Canistota. She had been an administrative assistant at Fairview Insurance, KDLT and S.E. Council of Governments.
Diana was a member of West Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Lennox and the Worthing American Legion Auxiliary. "Disa" loved fishing and camping and spending time near the river. She was preceded in death by one son, Glen, in infancy. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Russell; two sons and their wives: Andrew and Tara Henning of Crooks and Tony and Letty Henning of Mt. Olive, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Ashley Gonzales, Alex Gonzales, Aniston Henning and Emme Henning; her parents, Mike and Inez DeWitt of Worthing; one brother, Jeffry DeWitt of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister: Mabel "Sis" Olson and her husband, Rollin, of Kamuela, Hawaii; her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
