Bynon Hervig Davies was born on the home farm north of Worthng, SD on May 23, 1914, the son of Thomas A. and Nettie (Hervig) Davies. He attended public grade school in Worthing. On February 14, 1946 he was united in marriage to Sophia Boom. Following their marriage they lived in Worthing for 12 years. They then moved to the home farm north of Worthing where he had since lived. His wife preceded him in death on December 30, 1986. Bynon loved farming and gardening, expecially caring for his sheep. Besides his parents and his wife, Sophia, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Lee, on November 7, 1965; one sister, Theresa Kolicius and one infant brother, Francis. Grateful for having shared his life are two sons: Richard Davies of Brazil, Indiana and James Davies and wife, Kristi, of Canton; one daughter, Karen Poppens of Canton; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 at the Dindot-Klusmann Chapel, Lennox, with burial to follow at the Worthing Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon, Monday with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home, Lennox.
