Harry Guy Charlton was born on a farm north of Worthing, South Dakota on September 12, 1912, the son of Aden and Mary (Peterson) Charlton. He moved to Lennox with his family where he attended Lennox Public School. He then learned the welding trade and began welding with his Father. On April 28, 1934 he was united in marriage to Blanche Urban in Sioux Falls. They lived in Worthing their entire married life. He owned and operated Charlton's Repair Shop in Worthing for 63 years. His wife died on November 19, 2002, ending a marriage of over 68 years. Besides his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin Charlton and Ralph Charlton and one sister: Cora Greene. Grateful for having shared his life are his two daughters: Colleen Sexton and her husband, James, of Sioux Falls and Linda Bakkene and her husband, Carroll, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
