Mrs. A.F. Grove dies here; funeral held Wednesday
Mrs. A.F. Grove died early Monday morning in the Dell Rapids Community Hospital after an illness of more than six weeks.
Services were conducted in the Dell Rapids Baptist church by the Rev. Herman Van Arsdale Wednesday afternoon. Hermansons were in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were Dr. Stuart Grove, Dr. Max Grove, Grant Haugen, Charles Goldsmith, Dr. R.G. Fisk, nephews of the deceased and Dr. Paul Aspaas. Mrs. Frank Greening was organist and the Rev. Glenn W. Hammerlee of Sioux Falls was soloist. Interment took place in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
Augusta Diana Uline was born April 23, 1891, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Uline, early Dell Rapids pioneers. She was graduated from Dell Rapids high school, attended Downer College in Milwaukee, the University of South Dakota and received her degree at the Montana University in Missoula, where she was affiliated with Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
She was married to Dr. A.F. Grove in Dell Rapids on Dec. 27, 1916. She was a member of local Chapter AD, P.E.O., and of the Dell Rapids Women's Club. For many years she served on the board of trustees of the local library. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas of St. Paul and Alan of Minneapolis; three grandchildren; her sisters Alma Uline, Mrs. Maurice P. Dunlap and Mrs. E. G. Haugen of Dell Rapids and Mrs. Charles Bennett of San Pedro, Calif.
