Agnes Mar 26, 1898 - Dec 7, 1941

Nels Romereim, son of Lars Romereim, purchased the family homestead from his mother, Anna, following his father's death. Nels married Agnes Urdahl on June 29,1917. The Romereim family had been one of the original founding families of Romsdal Lutheran Church. Nels and Agnes con¬tinued their membership there, where they both sang in the choir. Agnes was a soloist and sang at many social functions in the community. Nels was on the board of directors of Farmers Elevator and Farmers Coop Oil Company of Beresford. He was also active in the Farmers Union. Nels played the fiddle as a hobby and was also known as one of the best billiard players in this area, being selected to play against Willie Hoppe, the world's champion billiard player as he toured the Midwest. Nels and Agnes had two sons, Lloyd and Ralph, and one daughter, Donna (Mrs. Garry Stalheim). Agnes passed away on Dec. 7,1941, six years after the birth of their daughter, leaving Nels to raise his daughter alone. Ralph began farming with his father about this time. After Nels's retirement from farming, he moved to Canton, where he continued to reside until his death on Aug. 8,1980. The family homestead was left jointly to the three children.
