Marvin Nelson was born in 1914 to Theo. M. and Margaret Nelson in Lincoln Township on the Pete Lovaas farm. He attended Plain View School, Pioneer High School, and finished his senior year at Beresford High School. Marvin started farming and married Lenore Lenning, daughter of Oscar and Mary Lenning of Bruce, S.D., in 1935. After renting different farms, they moved to the farm his grandfather Marius built up. They had two children, Marcene Kleese of Iowa City, Iowa, and Donald Nelson of Beresford. Marvin has served on different boards: Plainview School board, Co-op Oil of Beresford, Farm Gas Co-op Association of Lennox, and the N.F.O. Collection Point at Beresford.
