1909 - 1977

Alice Thompson (1909-1977) married Clarence Dullerud and they lived at Wayne, Neb., until his untimely death in 1933. She was left with two young children: Lila, Mrs. Loren Rhude; and Roger, who married Rosalyn Anderson. The Rhudes have five children: David, Mark, Kim, J oni, and Scott, and they live in Tucson, Ariz. The Roger Dullerruds had two children, Wayne and J an, and they reside in Sioux Falls. Alice married Magnes Ivarsen from Norway in 1937 and they farmed in Pleasant Township. After the death of her brother John, they moved on the home place of John and Martha Thompson, her parents, who retired to Beresford to live. They had four children: Marvin (unmarried); Irene (Mrs. John Rezac), parents of two sons, Todd and Jay, and they live in Sioux Falls; John, who married Sharon Hoffman in September 1961. John served in the U.S. Army and was sta¬tioned at Fort Carson, Colo. He attended Hawarden Com¬munity College. They farmed in Pleasant Township until pur¬chasing the Grunning farm in Lincoln Township in 1978. Their children are Laurie, Grant, Brian, and Steven. Glenn married Susan Johnson and they reside in Sioux City where he works for IPS. Their children are Debbie and Kevin. Marvin I varsen lives on the home place of his parents and grandparents four miles north and two miles east of Beresford. He served in the U.S. Army (1952-1954). During the summer of 1983 the family visited for several weeks in Norway the many relatives living there. Magnes died in 1963. (Source: The History of Lincoln County, SD 1985, page 463)
