1862 - 1940
Gilbert was born to Andris and Karen Hustrulid. At age 21, Gilbert came to America in 1883 and moved to Rochelle, IL. While there, he married Anna Marie Ossie on May 25, 1893. The couple had eight children. In 1907, they moved to a farm in Lincoln County, South Dakota, where they lived for twelve years. Then, they moved to a farm in Union County, South Dakota in 1919 and remained there for nineteen years. After retirement, Gilbert and his wife moved to Beresford, SD, where they remained until Gilbert's death.
