Anna was the daughter of Bertha Vosvig and Cornelius Ossie. She immigrated to America and first moved to Illinois, where she met her husband, Gilbert Hustrulid. The couple married on May 25, 1893. They had eight children. In 1907, Anna and her husband moved to the Romsdal community of Lincoln County, South Dakota. They farmed there until moving to a farm of their own in Union County, South Dakota and remained there until health concerns forced them to move to Beresford in 1938. Anna died only about six months after her husband's death. Her health had been bad for a number of years due to heart problems; but, she had been bedridden for only about three weeks.
